What they're saying about Rapid Release...

My father and I were at the Harrisburg, PA outdoor show, and on our way out the door we saw your stand and talked to a guy, I believe his name is Glen. He showed us your rod holders and despite my early skepticism of a plastic holder for saltwater use, he convinced me that the Rapidrelease rod holders were plenty strong enough to use trolling for saltwater Rockfish on the Chesapeake. We decided to try 2 of them out and see how they stood up to trolling heavy umbrella and tandem rigs during the MD spring trophy season. Although we didn't catch any fish for a while on the rods in the rapid release holders, I was impressed at how little the holders seemed stressed under the pressure of a 12- inch 4 arm umbrella with 20 ounces of inline weight. Then, on the afternoon of April 23rd, the real test came and during the MSSA tournament, nonetheless. A little after 12 noon a rod went down, drag screaming out. I unlocked the trolling lock and pulled the rod back, instantly setting the hook, "fish on!" About ten minutes later we stood in awe of the largest Rockfish we had caught yet, a 44 1/2 inch, 35-lb monster. Needless to say, I'm impressed with your product, and as I plan to add planer boards to my spread shortly will be in need of 2 or 4 more rod holders. I have attached 2 pics of my self and my nephew with the fish, which he netted(promised I'd give him credit). I have recommended them to all my fishin buddies and can't wait until the next monster hits. Thanks again for a superior product, and to Glen for convincing me to give them a try.

Dear Rapid Release,

Hello! We were first introduced to your rod holder at the February, 2004 Indianapolis Boat Sport and travel Show. We were interested because of the concept of your new rod holder but were skeptical because of the success we have had with our Scotties. Our doubts were quickly erased once we had an opportunity to try your Rapid Release Pro Series. We have put it to the test at 10 protrail tournaments and the results have been remarkable. We have even used these holders to tie anchors. They are the strongest and most reliable rod holder we have ever used.

We have caught hundreds of fish in these rod holders. They release as smoothly now as they did the day we mounted them on the boat. When you have a 40 - 50 pound hog on the other end of your line, you can set the hook and fight the fish without having to worry about fighting the rod holder. We would like to think by using your rod holder, we have an edge on the competition, but I am sure once the word gets out on Rapid Release, everyone will be pleased with them as we have been. We are already seeing them on more and more boats at each competition.

Thank you for letting us try these rod holders. We certainly have been impressed with the results. By the way, if you have any extras you don't need, fell free to send them our way. :)

Sincerely,
Don Mitchell and Ron Streeter

My name is Fred Davoli. I own and operate Lunker guide service. www.lunkerguide.com. Fishing Raystown Lake, located in central PA. Phone 814-669-8887. Our primary fish that we hound after are trophy striped bass. The fish in our lake reach weights in excess of 50 lbs. I was searching for an effective rod holder that would allow the average fishermen a chance to set the hook themselves right out of the rod holder without delay. Well, I met the Rapid Release gang at the Cleveland Outdoor Show. I was amazed at how fast you could get the rod out of the holder. I decided to give them a shot and the rest is history. We have increased our hook up ratio by 50%. In 27 years of fishing for striped bass I have never found a more effective rod holder. Included are some trophy stripers caught so far in 2004.

Happy fishing,
Fred Davoli
